Even with a small garden you can make something grand: this zig-zag bench, serving both as a main feature and as a seating area, is under lit during parties creating a chilled atmosphere during the night. The travertine paving goes with the Ipe hardwood material of the bench and the lounge chairs. The raised white rendered beds follow the shape of the bench, creating an interesting background with specimen planting, including the African lily (Agapanthus africanus) and Japanese maple and large Allium bulbs. The whole garden is framed by horizontal battens.

“The floating bench evolved around entertainment: what could be better than highlighting the best feature during a party by turning on the light under the bench? The light can be seen from the kitchen inviting people outside.”
