Nowadays we do not think of gardens as a place of fruit and vegetable production, more like space for leisure, relaxation and enjoyment. But why not combine the two? Even the prestigious palace at Versailles had a separate section called the potager where the kitchen vegetables were grown. Among a decorative border, we can place some fruit bearing shrubs and multistem trees or have a raised bed for the kitchen herbs.
