An elegant long border and secret garden surrounded by ancient yew became the focus of James’ attention over the winter of 2014. The remit was to create something wonderful, a hidden haven full of light and joy for adults and children alike to reflect and play. The result was a bountiful garden with sweeping curves and colourful planting that draws you in and leads you round. The long border became an enticing extension of the secret garden and flanks the surrounding house and outdoor entertaining area. The central sculpture of a Beast had been bought 20 years before and was crucial in determining the atmosphere of the space.
