Gravel garden construction

Located in Brook Green

The flatplan shows random paving slabs serving as stepping stones to reach the upper levels of the garden interspersed with planting in-between the gravel. The site has full sun position – perfect for a gravel garden.

The first step in laying down the paving is compacting the base; the black liner is to prevent unwanted weeds coming up through the gravel. Planting holes will be pierced through later for the planting.

The gravel is laid down and raked level – the box balls already planted, as they needed bigger holes. The garden is ready for planting while the team continues rendering the shed and the pergola.

The finished planting and hardscape: the plants look healthy and they spice up the gravel and raised beds. One more layer of paint on the shed and the garden is ready for a party.
